As women in our 40's and beyond our minds and bodies are experiencing dramatic hormonal changes, but estrogen takes the cake. In a nutshell estrogen helps our bodies to return to a resting and recovered state. In peri-menopause and menopause waning estrogen results in a more dramatic response to stress (exercise, diet, family, work, etc) and a greater difficulty returning to a rested and recovered state. This heightened stress leaves our bodies unbalanced with increased anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and more. With little support from the medical community, we are left to wallow in our symptoms.


Many women myself included, resort to intense exercise and restrictive diets to combat weight gain, muscle loss and feeling out of shape. The problem is if your hormones are already out of whack this formula can exasperate your symptoms and wreak havoc with your progress. The wrong approach can leave you tired, stressed and unhappy with your progress.

My hormone roller coaster began at 16 when I was diagnosed with PCOS.
